Marathon for Bednets

JCI Dublin decided to run the Dublin Marathon on 27th October 2008 and raise money for "JCI Nothing but nets campaign". "No one of us has run a marathon before but everyone is very motivated. It is a serious commitment and we need to be ready for the event. " said Vincent, project Director.

JCI Dublin raised €2800 for 4 charities
JCI Dublin as Junior Chamber International Dublin has raised a whopping €2800 for four charities as part of a charity comedy night at The Laughter Lounge.

JCI Dublin sold over 150 tickets to a comedy night at Dublin's Comedy Central The Laughter Lounge on Thursday 27th of March last. The four charities to benefit from the giggle- fest are The Irish Cancer Society, The Holy Ghost Fathers Missions in Africa and St.Vincent De Paul and JCI Bednets Campaign.

On the night over 150 JCI members and supporters from all over the capital turned up and emptied their pockets for the charities. A great night was had by all of those who attended the gig viewing three fantastic comedy acts including Aiden Bishop, brother of Des Bishop.

"We really enjoyed organising the event, and the result is a great night for our supporters and quite a significant contribution to the four charities in question. We hope to raise more in the very near future," said Gillian Daly, organiser of the event.

JCI -UN Millennium Development Goals Poster Competition
The aim of this project is to raise awareness of the UN Millennium Developmental Goals amongst primary school children. It is hoped that this objective will be achieved by holding a poster competition where children of primary school ages are asked to design a poster with the theme called “Achieving the Goal” which should focus on achieving the UN Millennium Goals.

Debating Competition

Image Debating Competition for Secondary Schools

The Debating competition for secondary schools will take place on 2nd December 2006. This is open to transition year students in the Dublin City Centre area.

The JCI World Debating Championship
JCI World Debating Championship 2007 to take place in Antalya, Turkey.

One of the highlights of the 62nd JCI Congress in Antalya, Turkey will be the JCI World Debating Championship sponsored by 1963 JCI President Eric H. Stevenson.

The World Debating Championship takes place on November, 2007 in three languages, English, French and Spanish. National Organizations are encouraged to register teams for this program as soon as possible. A team should have four members: three debaters and one adjudicator. Due to time constraints there will be a limit in the number of teams admitted. The registration forms as well as the rules and guidelines are available for download below. 
 
CYEA
The JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (JCI CYEA) is a new international award which was designed specifically to recognize outstanding young entrepreneurs.

JCI (Junior Chamber International) is the world’s largest network of young leaders and entrepreneurs. As young leaders and entrepreneurs, we endeavor to find ways to recognize and support outstanding examples in these areas.

This exciting new international award recognizes, honors and celebrates exceptional young entrepreneurs and the role of creativity in their success. Participating Organizations will not only raise their profile in the community, through organizing and administering the program, they will develop their own leadership skills, fostering fellowship across their communities.
