Who We Are | About Junior Chamber International |
|
Who?JCI is a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs. We are 200,000 active JCI members and millions of JCI alumni participating in projects, meetings, learning programs and events. Where? We are located in more than 6000 communities and 110 countries on 5 continents. What?We meet, learn and grow. We create positive change. We learn how to be better leaders and better people. We lead projects in areas of Business, Individual, Community and International Development. Why?Because we believe in the advancement of the global community and the creation of positive change by improving ourselves and the world around us. How?We meet at local and national meetings and international conferences to exchange ideas and share best practices. We also learn through interesting and interactive seminars and presentations by dynamic leaders and speakers. We grow both personally and professionally because we learn by doing and actively participate in organising projects and activities for ourselves and our communities. Junior Chamber provides an excellent way to meet new people, develop yourself and contribute to the betterment of our community - all at the same time. The organisation is non-profit making, non-denominational and non-political. The only criteria for applying for membership is that you be between the age of 18-40. JCI Dublin
Junior Chamber Dublin has strong links to the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to an agreement drafted in 2006, the President of JCI sits on the Council of the Dublin Chamber and JCI Dublin members have access to the main events of the Chamber. JCI Dublin also has a strong partnership to Dublin City Council and gets the support of the Lord Mayor of Dublin in numerous community projects. Similar to the international organisation, JCI Dublin offers opportunities in four main areas: Business, Individual Development, Community and International. Members are encouraged to join in projects and take leadership on new projects as the most effective way of leaning and getting the full benefits of the organisation. By being very active in the Dublin community, we award outstanding young people or outstanding businesses, we organise business dinners, training and workshops, we participate in debating and public speaking competitions and travel to international events for fantastic networking and learning opportunities. JCI Dublin also works with a high number of charities. As young professionals, members dedicate their time and expertise to help charities raise awareness, promote themselves or events and raise much needed funds. JCI offers every member the opportunity to take on leadership positions. The President and Council of the organisation are elected every year. There is a local council in JCI Dublin, a National Council (JCI Ireland) and a globl leadership based at the head quarter in San Jose, United States.
