DUBLIN JCI PRESIDENT REACHES NEW HEIGHTS

IF JIM couldn't fix it then JCI certainly would, as Dublin President Mark Kelly fulfilled a lifelong dream at this year's JCI European Conference in Tallinn, Estonia.

JCI members were given the opportunity to achieve their dreams by organisers of the recent annual conference taking their inspiration from this years' theme "that everything is possible."  Dublin President Mark Kelly’s lifelong ambition came true when he went sky diving for the first time. “It was amazing to jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet and glide with the birds at speeds of 250 mph through the sky”, he said afterwards. “This is something I would never have attempted or thought possible before I joined JCI”.Over 2,500 young people from all over the world flocked to Estonia for the conference to meet, learn and grow. The attendees discussed the key issues affecting young people, particularly the JCI’s involvement in Corporate Social Responsibility. Mark Kelly said: “JCI is an organisation by its very nature involved in CSR at a core level.“The four main areas of JCI are business, community, international and individual development.“ Business and community are the two key factors in CSR and when we couple this with personal development, JCI is well placed to develop the leaders of tomorrow who will do the right thing in their companies and businesses when it comes to CSR”.After much debating the delegates enjoyed a gala black tie evening with a five course meal served to the sounds of Mozart’s Bell Symphonies.
