| Canal Clean Up -JCI Dublin glamourises being environmentally responsible! |

Active Citizenship Week got off to a flying start in Dublin this year as JCI Dublin held a canal clean up on the 7th of October. The event which was attended by National President Catherine Laffey, World President Graham Hanlon as well as members of JCI Dublin, Fingal and Dun Laoghaire was all about Glamour by the Grand Canal. The crew were decked out in tiaras, diamonds, featherboas and zebra print gloves. The brainchild of JCI Dublin member Eva Eckert and JCI Dublin Deputy President Michelle Daly, the event was all about JCI members spending a couple of hours cleaning litter from along the banks of the grand canal. Permission to host the event was granted from Waterways Ireland. The members on the night were Mark Kelly, Community Director, JCI Ireland, Eva Eckert, JCI Dublin, Michelle Daly, JCI Dublin, Suzanne Corcoran, JCI Dun Laoghoire, Shaun Hawley, JCI Dublin, Catherine LAffey, National PResident, Graham Hanlon, JCI World President, Ronan Leonard, JCI Fingal, Irina Adashkevich, Kari Syrja, JCI Finland. After cleaning the canal spotless a few beverages were inbibed by the motley crew. JCI Dublin Deputy President Michelle Daly, also presented the World President Graham Hanlon, with a pair of Zebra Print cleaning gloves on the occasion of the canal clean up. |
