Great start of the year at the JCI Ireland AGM in Limerick |
|
JCI Dublin members ignored the bad weather and traveled to Limerick this weekend to support the new national president elect Orla Ring and join members from all over the country for a wonderful dinner at the Absolute Hotel. The first general meeting of the year is a great opportunity for all Irish JCI members to meet and share ideas and experiences. Guests at the ceremony were past world president Graham Hanlon, past national president Catherine Laffey, Minister of State Peter Power, JCI past presidents, JCI senators, current and past members. Former JCI World President was acknowledged for his tremendous contribution to JCI Ireland and was awarded the greatest recognition in JCI – lifetime membership. The Dublin chapter was once again well represented: Michelle Daly - JCI Dublin President 2009, Kevin Guerin, Tudor Borlea, Louise Walsh, Laura Borlea, Elisabeth Donohoe and Ray Reiley.
After the great success last year, JCI Dublin is preparing for a busy year. Michelle Daly presented the ambitious 2009 action plan highlighting the areas of opportunity and listing the new initiatives for the year. The Dublin chapter kicked off in 2009 concentrating on what members need. After conducting a survey regarding the effects of the current economic climate on members, JCI Dublin is ready to take action. National President Orla Ring and other JCI chapters in the country embraced this initiative. JCI Dublin was successful in winning the bid for Presidents Day 2009. The chapter put together a great program for the national event, which will be held on the 18th July.
