JCI Dublin - Junior Chamber International Dublin

At the end of July JCI Inernational organised the 2009 Summit at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The summit focused on addressing the global problem of climate change. Representatives of many National Organisations  and key partners from UN gathered to explore, propose and take action on climate change as well as to issue a Commitment to Action with the support of the UN Global Compact and the International Chamber of Commerce. Three JCI Dublin members represented Ireland at this event: Louise Walsh, Laura Borlea and Tudor Borlea. After hearing the presentations of UN representatives and specialists on climate change, they participated in workshops on establishing JCI's global commitments to take action on this issue.

An important part of the event was the promotion of  'Seal the Deal'. The UN campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of political will and public support for reaching a comprehensive global climate agreement in Copenhagen in December 2009.
